Dog Park Winter hours are now in effect. 7am until Dusk (6pm)
Dog Park guests should prepare to depart at 5:30, as all users must be out of the Dog Parks by dark, or 6pm — whichever is earlier.
Board Members – Bob Davis & Jeffrey King – show off the new bench and plaque honoring the many Volunteer Firefighters in Washington County at the Dedication in front of the Fire Museum in July. Animal Friends joined the Washington County Chamber’s Leadership Class of 2021 in creation of this wonderful bench. Also pictured are several proud high school student welders, showing off their efforts.
Next time you visit one of our Dog Parks, introduce yourself to Rosie Langford, our Dog Park Monitor. Rosie can be found every day patrolling the grounds and keeping it clean. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcomed, answering all questions, and tirelessly cleaning the dog ponds. As this is a sanctuary for everyone, she encourages users to help financially to support the maintenance of the Dog Parks and keep them beautiful for all to enjoy. “I love Animals and People in that order! I’m a refugee from Czech, and proud to be in America!! I love my job here!! “

New Procedures due to Corona Virus
For the safety of our clients and staff, please have all of your paperwork filled out prior to your appointment time. These forms are available at our website, on this page: https://www.animalfriendstexas.org/clinic/forms-instructions/#.XqRYf_aSncs
- For surgery patients, please remain outside for surgery check-in and discharge. We appreciate everyone abiding by appropriate social distancing standards while awaiting check in. All final payments will be done via phone to speed up the discharge process, and minimize contact between individuals.
- For afternoon wellness appointments, please arrive on time. Once arrived, call the office phone number – 979-277-0400. A technician will come out to speak with you about your pet’s needs. As you wait in your car, each pet will then be brought in for their treatments and returned to you as soon as this is finished. All final payments will be done as you wait.
Thank you for your patience and understanding with this new process as we help provide care for your pets while doing our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

The 3rd Annual Carnival at the Dog Park was a great success! Over 350 people of all ages with leashed pets attended the Carnival and visited with exhibitors, adopted dogs, played with snakes and reptiles, watched the incredible Brenham Police Department Canine Unit demonstrations, toured the First Responders of Washington County equipment and trucks, had pictures made while sitting atop Longhorn steers, and participated in the Pet Parade. Attendees enjoyed hot dogs, Blue Bell ice cream, popcorn, and cotton candy. A huge thank you goes to our community for its support and our exhibitors: Reptile Hospice and Sanctuary of Texas, 4 Paws Farms, Animal Friends Clinic, Faske Longhorns, Brenham Adoption Center, the TrueBlue Animal Rescue, Washington County EMS, Brenham Fire Department, Brenham Police Department, and Washington County Sheriff COPS. And a special thank you to all our Sponsors: Puppy Dawgs and Cat Tails, Blue Bell Ice Cream, HEB, Westwood Cinema, KWHI/KTEX, Mike Hopkins Distributing, Caney Creek Farm and PLM Texas ! And thanks to the Animal Friends Board and Staff for all their hard work in putting this great event together.

The new Dog Park for LARGE Dogs opened on April 1, 2017 – No Joke ! This part of the park is for dogs that are over 20 lbs. There is a brand new dog pond and many tables and benches in the shade under the trees for humans to enjoy while watching their dogs run, play and swim.
We are excited to announce we have a new feature to help serve our clients!
We now have a professional Call Service handling all incoming calls when the Clinic is not open.
This service will be able to answer basic questions, such as when we will be open next, as well as pricing of services. They will not be able to make appointments, as these must continue to be made during business hours when we are open. This service will also handle all emergency calls associated with surgeries to immediately get in touch with our emergency personnel.
Our costs have increased yearly yet we have not increased our pricing in over 4 years. Effective April 1, 2016 our pricing will increase somewhat to help cover the rise in our costs. Click here to read more.
